Autism & Mitochondrial Disease

Posted by James on 04/30/2017 | Comment

Per the CDC, (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), some children with a mitochondrial disease may also have an autism spectrum disorder and may have some of the symptoms and signs of autism. However, other children with a mitochondrial disease may not have any signs or symptoms related to autism.

A child with autism may or may not have a mitochondrial disease. When a child has both autism and a mitochondrial disease, they sometimes have other problems as well, including epilepsy, problems with muscle tone, and/or movement disorders.

In general, more research about mitochondrial disease and autism is needed. Specifically, research is needed to find out how common it is for people to have autism and a mitochondrial disorder. Right now, it seems rare but in those cases of combined autism and mitochondrial disorder, it may make sense to consider discussing the use of a bio-enhanced Coenzyme Q10 such as LiQsorb Liposomal CoQ10 or Liquid QH™ Liposomal Ubiquinol. with your doctor.

Here is a recent verbatim comment from one of our U.S. customers:

“This product has produced miraculous results with our 8 year old son with autism… within a week of starting this liquid CoQ10, for the first time in his life, he began initiating social conversation (as opposed to scripting or repeating)… thanks SO much!! Kathy S.”

Kathy’s son is using the LiQsorb Liposomal CoQ10. But, PLEASE take any and all customer comments with a grain of salt – not that this comment is not true – it is! But, just because LiQsorb Liposomal CoQ10 is producing “miraculous results” for ONE family does not mean that it will work as dramatically for EVERY family.

Our goal is to provide the best bioavailable CoQ10 (and we do!) but we do not want to give false hope especially when words like “miraculous” are used. We hope for “miraculous” results all the time but are realistic enough to know that “miraculous” results will not always be the case – the best we can hope for is improvement and stability.
