Toxic risks in salmon?

Where our health and the health of our family is concerned, we all try to do the right thing. One of the smart choices, (we thought!), was to increase our consumption of Omega 3 rich Salmon. Then “WHAM!” we’re blindsided by news reports that the amp;gt;farmed salmon, (compared to wild Pacific salmon), most of us have been consuming contains up to ten times the levels of hazardous chemicals and contaminants including PCBs, dioxins and banned pesticides.

What do we do now about the newly reported toxic risks in farmed salmon?

As usual, there are a variety of opinions ranging from “there is no public health concern” to “don’t eat farmed salmon more than once or twice a month”.

There is mounting evidence that omega-3 fatty acid consumption found in fish like salmon is protective against cardiovascular disease. But if we err on the side of caution and “don’t eat farmed salmon more than once or twice a month”. Then chances are very good that we are not getting anywhere near an adequate and beneficial amount of the heart protective Omega 3’s.

One solution is to consider supplementing your diet with our Omega 3 softgels. Our fish oil partners are world leaders in sourcing raw material fish oils for nutritional supplement products. They have tight quality parameters related to pcb's and heavy metals and will not use oils for further refining if they find these types of materials in them. The strict manufacturing processes including molecular distillation ensure that these elements are not found in the finished oil. In addition, independent testing of our products insure our compliance with California Proposition 65 related to heavy metals and pcb's.

The bottom line is that we manufacture and sell quality products and continually test them to make sure they stay that way.
